Exabytes Malaysia Blog » DURIAN BUFFET with Exabytes' beloved ... Posted: 05 Jul 2011 01:42 AM PDT This year the pungent aroma of durians from Penang has traveled a far distance to KL and even Singapore. Exabytes' very first Durian Party attracted more than 80 clients from KL, Penang and some from Singapore. Known as the king of fruits, we all know that the durian is famous for its formidable thorn-covered husk, unique (some say 'super wonderful') odour and the heatiness experienced by eaters after consuming. And at Exabytes' Durian Party just a week ago, there were over 20 different types of durians for our valued clients and Exabees to choose from. Sunday at 1.30pm, while the sun was still sunny and bright, 50 Exabees together with 80 clients of Exabytes set foot in Fruit n Spice, a durian farm situated at Balik Pulau, Penang for our ultimate Durian Buffet!! Yeah…! And what was crazier was that we were going to eat durians alongside Penang Laksa! As both are infamous for their heatiness experienced by eaters after consuming, we knew that we were in for a food joy ride this afternoon. But we didn't fret. To tame the formidable durian and the exotic Penang Laksa, we had prepared mangosteens, salt water, cempedak, the rambutan, etc to cool ourselves down. After the long winding roads along Balik Pulau, we finally reached the car park of the durian farm. With more than 50 cars all by Exabytes' clients and Exabees, we practically jammed up the entire parking space at Fruit n Spice. After the strenuous parking endeavor, Exabees distributed Exabytes stickers to our clients for identification purpose so that they can enjoy the durian buffet. Without further ado, the durian craze had begun! To make it even more indulgent and exciting, Penang Laksa here we come!!! Ingredients of Penang Laksa (before pouring in the super tasty Asam Laksa soup) – onion, pineapple, cucumber and mint leave. 80 bowls of Penang Laksa were finished off in less than half an hour. To further indulge ourselves, we ordered another 45 bowls for our clients and some Exabees. Just like the old saying "all good things must come to an end", some of our KL clients needed to drive back home earlier before sunset. However, maneuvering out of the car park was no easy task. After all the savoring of great fruits, chit-chatting and great fun, it's time to head home. But wait! Can be bring back some of the durian and rambutan if it's ok? Last but not least, we want to extend a special thanks to the OC, and more importantly our participating clients especially those who traveled all the way from KL and Singapore!! Thank you so much for taking the time to come, your participation has made our Durian Party a merrier and a more meaningful one! Stay tuned for more Exabytes news, who knows next time we will have another round of buffet at somewhere exotic. Full Feed Generated by Get Full RSS, sponsored by USA Best Price. |
