Semlm kes tikam gadis 23 thn graduan UKM di Alor Setar Kedah, ni gadis 25 thn plak ditikam tunangnya di Bukit Mertajam P Pinang. Tunangnya tu dikatakan blk rumah slps tu dan meminum racun. Clueless, tak tau nk cakap apa bila berlaku perkara yg libatkan perasaan cmtu. Cuma simpati pd gadis tu, apa silapnya smp perlu ditikam smp mati. Begitu murah nyawa manusia diperlakukan begitu kejam. Takziah utk keluarga arwah. Al-Fatihah.

- Seorang wanita ditemui mati dipercayai ditikam oleh tunangnya di sebuah stesen minyak tempat wanita itu bekerja di Jalan Perusahaan Bukit Tengah di sini semalam. Mayat Karimah Jusuh, 25, ditemui oleh rakan sekerjanya dalam bilik persalinan di stesen minyak itu pada pukul 8 pagi.

"Mangsa ditikam di beberapa bahagian di perut, leher, dada dan tangan. Kami percaya kejadian itu bermotifkan cemburu," kata Timbalan Ketua Polis Pulau Pinang, Datuk Abdul Rahim Jaafar di sini semalam. Beliau berkata, selepas kejadian itu, tunang wanita berkenaan yang bekerja di sebuah kilang di Perai dikatakan pulang ke rumahnya di Mengkuang Mak Sulong dan meminum racun. Needless to say, this was the only other place which Jezebelle was looking forward to besides the swimming pool. It wasn't hard to coax her out of the swimming pool area to this place, but it wasn't easy at all to persuade her to leave Lil' Rock Kids Club!

Rock Spa was the only other place besides the Teens Club which we didn't have the opportunity to have a go at because we were busy looking after our toddler, who seemed to fully enjoy herself more than we did.

It is a sad day when a child has to suffer, especially when she is supposed to be enjoying herself on one of Malaysia's most popular beaches. But that is exactly what happened to Arina Kirana Azrin, 5, when she was knocked down by a horse ridden by a man on the beach. It is very fortunate that she suffered a dislocated left shoulder and not lost her life.

Unregulated beach activities at Batu Ferringhi have led to several nasty accidents recently

The man who rode the horse? He did not bother to stop and just tried to get away from enforcement officers who were at the beach at that time. No word in news reports whether the man was apprehended but the incident highlights a very, very, very old issue about Batu Ferringhi. Water sports and beach activities have been a bone of contention between operators and authorities, with no resolution in sight. Consequently, there is still no real enforcement, even though there is supposed to be a ban on some activities, especially after a horrific accident involving a Chinese tourist in February earlier this year.

It really does seem that those involved in the tourism sector in Penang have not learnt from the past. It makes us wonder how many more innocent people have to suffer, and what exactly will it take to actually see this situation finally resolved.

Gerakan has urged the DAP-led Penang government to enforce laws on sporting activities at the popular beach of Batu Ferringhi.

Local government bureau chairman Teh Leong Meng said serious attention must be given to public safety along the beach as it could affect the tourism industry.

"We have laws but they will not work if there is no strict enforcement and proper control," he said in a statement to Bernama here Wednesday.

On Wednesday, Arina Kirana Azrin, 5, dislocated her left shoulder after she was knocked down by a horse ridden by a man on the beach.

Teh said horse-riding and watersports were banned in Feb after Chinese tourist Zhu Li, 47, suffered broken legs after being hit by a flying jetski.

Penang Municipal Council had since issued guidelines to watersports operators including asking them to undergo first aid training and provide general insurance worth RM50,000.

Tajaan Utusan Malaysia untuk 22 sekolah rendah di Tasek Gelugor

NOR Mohamed Yakcob (dua dari kiri) menyerahkan cek berjumlah RM27,720 kepada Mohd. Basir Abdul Rahim bagi tajaan akbar Utusan Malaysia di Tasek Gelugor, Pulau Pinang, semalam.

TASEK GELUGOR 23 April - Keberkesanan sisipan Akhbar Dalam Pembelajaran (ADaP) Utusan Malaysia membantu meningkatkan proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran murid mendorong Ahli Parlimen Tasek Gelugor, Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcob menaja akhbar ini untuk diedarkan kepada murid di 22 sekolah rendah di Tasek Gelugor mulai bulan ini.

Katanya, melalui sumbangan bernilai RM27,720 itu, murid yang bakal menduduki Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) berpeluang memanfaatkan sisipan ADaP dalam pembelajaran mereka.

Jelas beliau, setiap sekolah akan mendapat 30 naskhah akhbar Utusan Malaysia setiap hari Rabu.

Ia melibatkan Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Permatang Buluh, SK Permatang Tok Jaya, SK Sungai Dua, SK Lahar Yooi, SK Bagan Ajam, SK Permatang Binjai, SK Teluk Air Tawar, SK Taman Senangan, SK Pengkalan Jaya, SK Kampung Selamat, SK Tasek Gelugor, SK Ara Rendang, SK Pokok Sena, SK Sungai Puyu dan SK Padang Menora.

Sekolah lain yang mendapat tajaan itu adalah Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) Kai Chee, SJKC Aik Keow, SJKC Li Hwa, SJKC Lee Chee dan Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil (SJKT) Ladang Mayfield dan SJKT Ladang Malakoff.

"Murid boleh mendapat pelbagai kaedah serta panduan jawapan untuk berjaya dalam UPSR selepas ini.

"Ini secara tidak langsung mampu membantu mereka untuk maju dan berjaya dalam pelajaran," katanya selepas menyerahkan replika cek tajaan kepada Pengurus Kanan Pemasaran dan Pengedaran Utusan Melayu (M) Berhad, Mohd. Basir Abdul Rahim di Dewan Besar Sungai Dua, Tasek Gelugor, di sini hari ini.

Majlis penyerahan itu diadakan sempena Hari Kerjaya dan Keusahawanan Tasek Gelugor 2011 selama dua hari anjuran UMNO Bahagian Tasek Gelugor dengan kerjasama Pihak Berkuasa Pelaksanaan Koridor Utara.

Hadir sama Ketua Eksekutif NCIA, Datuk Redza Rafiq dan Penolong Pengurus Pemasaran Utusan Melayu (M) Berhad Wilayah Utara, Azman Mohd. Mansor.

KUBANG PASU 11 Julai – Dua sahabat dari Tasek Gelugor, Pulau Pinang tidak menyangka kunjungan mereka ke Tasik Darul Aman, Jitra di sini untuk menyertai pertandingan Kaki Pancing Siri 3/2011 membuahkan hasil apabila muncul johan dan naib johan pertandingan itu.

Norsham Ismail, 40, selaku johan membawa pulang wang tunai RM25,000 beserta sijil setelah berjaya menaikkan ikan tongsan seberat 7.52 kilogram pada pertandingan anjuran Toman Merah Event dengan kerjasama Darulaman Golf & Country Club itu.

Rakannya, Zaini Ilyas, 41, pula yang muncul naib johan menerima RM10,000 setelah menjinakkan ikan tongsan seberat 7.27 kilogram.

Tempat ketiga pula dimenangi oleh Mohd. Safri Meor, 30, yang menerima RM4,000 setelah berjaya menaikkan ikan patin seberat 4.56 kilogram.

Norsham berkata, dia tidak menyangka ikan tongsan yang berjaya dijinakkan pukul 11.46 pagi itu menjadikannya sebagai johan pertandingan tersebut.

"Saya dan rakan-rakan yang lain dari Tasek Gelugor memang selalu menyertai pertandingan memancing, tetapi ini kali pertama saya menang dalam pertandingan ini.

"Hadiah RM25,000 akan saya simpan dan saya akan belanja rakan-rakan yang turut datang mencuba nasib pada pertandingan ini," katanya selepas pertandingan itu di sini, kelmarin.

Zaini pula berkata, dia datang bersama Norsham serta rakan-rakan lain untuk memeriahkan lagi pertandingan Kaki Pancing Siri 3/2011 itu.

"Saya memang tidak pernah melepaskan peluang menyertai pertandingan kerana saya minat memancing.

"Saya anggap hadiah ini adalah rezeki anak-anak dan keluarga yang tidak pernah jemu menyokong minat saya ini," jelasnya.

Mohd. Safri berkata, dia bersyukur setelah penyertaannya membuahkan hasil kerana pertandingan itu disertai lebih 400 kaki pancing dari kawasan utara.

"Saya tinggal di Bota, Perak, dan setiap kali memasuki pertandingan ini saya akan mendapat hadiah dan penat lelah saya ke sini sangat berbaloi," katanya.

Memang tak masuk akal betul janji tahap jingga ini kepada penduduk India di Ladang Batu Kawan . Kalau setakat janji ini pun tak boleh tunaikan , macamana la depa dok janji bulan & bintang dalam Buku Jingga.

PULAU PINANG 15 Jun - Pada pilihan raya umum lalu, penduduk di Ladang Batu Kawan, Seberang Perai Selatan mengundi pembangkang selepas dijanjikan kebajikan serta nasib mereka akan dibela.

Namun, setelah tiga tahun kerajaan DAP Pulau Pinang mentadbir, semua janji manis itu hanya tinggal janji.
Merasakan diri mereka diperdaya demi kepentingan politik peribadi, kira-kira 100 penduduk ladang itu berhimpun di Kompleks Tun Abdul Razak (Komtar) yang menempatkan pejabat pentadbiran kerajaan DAP Pulau Pinang hari ini.

Kumpulan itu pada Mei lalu pernah melancarkan mogok lapar berhampiran Stadium Batu Kawan kerana isu sama.

Mereka berkumpul kira-kira 30 minit sambil membawa bendera berwarna hitam sebagai tanda tidak puas hati terhadap wakil rakyat DAP.

Kumpulan penduduk itu mendesak untuk berjumpa Ketua Menteri, Lim Guan Eng bagi menyerahkan memorandum menuntut perkara-perkara yang pernah dijanjikan oleh Timbalan Ketua Menteri II, P. Ramasamy yang juga Ahli Parlimen Batu Kawan semasa kempen Pilihan Raya Umum Ke-12.

Pengerusi Kuil Sri Mahamuthu Mariamman, A. Nallakumar yang mengetuai kumpulan tersebut berkata, mereka mahu berjumpa sendiri dengan Guan Eng kerana sudah tidak mempercayai Ramasamy."Kami mahu berjumpa sendiri Ketua Menteri selaku pemegang amanah rakyat.

"Kami mahu Ketua Menteri selesaikan masalah kami yang telah berlanjutan begitu lama. "Ramasamy telah berjanji untuk berbuat demikian dulu, tapi sampai sekarang tidak diendahkan," katanya kepada pemberita di sini hari ini.

Bagaimanapun, mereka hanya dibenarkan berjumpa Pembantu Pegawai Komunikasi, Pejabat Ketua Menteri, D. Bhaveneswary untuk menyerahkan memorandum berkenaan. Kumpulan tersebut kemudiannya bersurai selepas diarahkan oleh polis.

Antara isu yang dibangkitkan penduduk adalah cadangan Ramasamy untuk menyerahkan tanah perkuburan berusia lebih 200 tahun seluas enam hektar di ladang itu kepada badan tanah wakaf Hindu bagi tujuan pembangunan.

Turut dibangkitkan adalah janji untuk memberi tanah dan rumah kepada 105 keluarga di Ladang Batu Kawan beserta geran dan membina dewan orang ramai serta padang bola sepak untuk kegunaan penduduk.

KUALA LUMPUR-Walaupun dibelungi rasa kecewa dengan insiden jump start di Batu Kawan, Mohd Affendi Rosli berharap dapat beraksi dengan lebih baik pada Pusingan 3 Kejuaraan Cub Prix AAM Malaysia PETRONAS yang bakal berlangsung di Stadium Sultan Mizan Gong Badak, Terengganu pada 13 dan 14 Mei ini.

Affendi dikenakan penalti 30 saat setelah didapati melakukan kesalahan jump start pada perlumbaan akhir CP130 bulan lepas.

Penalti itu secara langsung meletakkan Affendi di kedudukan kelapan walaupun dia melintasi garisan penamat di tempat kedua.

Jika bukan kerana denda tersebut, Affendi akan berada di kedudukan teratas keseluruhan CP130 bersama-sama pendahulu ketika ini, Ahmad Fazli Sham (Pennzoil Fastrac Racing) dengan 33 mata. Kini dia berada di kedudukan keenam dengan 21 mata.

Nasib malang turut menimpa rakan sepasukannya, Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman yang turut didapati bersalah kerana kesalahan serupa. Nasib pelumba berusia 27 tahun itu bertambah malang apabila gagal menamatkan perlumbaan ekoran masalah mekanikal pada pusingan ke-13 daripada 15 pusingan perlumbaan.

"Keputusan di Pusingan 2 pasti lebih baik jika bukan kerana kesalahan teknikal saya dan Azlan lakukan. Kami tidak menyangka klac baru ini amat sensitif dan ketika kami menkar ke gear satu ia menendang dengan kuat.

"Saya hampir berputus asa selepas marshal menunjukkan isyarat kesalahan jumpstart pada pusingan 5.

"Walau bagaimanapun saya meneruskan perlumbaan kerana lebih baik jika dapat membawa pulang mata berbanding dengan tangan kosong," kata pelumba berusia 26 tahun itu.

Tambahnya lagi, "Saya sangat menyesal dengan kesilapan kerana pada waktu itu saya yakin dapat menamatkan perlumbaan di atas podium memandangkan jentera Honda saya begitu kompetitif di Batu Kawan. Malangnya, saya gagal menggunakan kelebihan tersebut."

Affendi bertekad untuk melupakan perkara yang telah berlalu dan kini bersedia untuk memberikan aksi terbaik di Terengganu.

"Nasib saya kurang baik pada dua pusingan sebelum ini dan saya berharap ia akan berakhir di atas podium di Terengganu. Bukan setakat jentera Honda saya berada dalam keadaan terbaik setelah pelbagai pengubahsuaian dilakukan oleh mekanik, malah perlumbaan kali ini merupakan satu perlumbaan teknikal.

Saya amat menggemarinya kerana tidak semua pelumba CP130 dapat melakukannya dengan baik," kata Juara keseluruhan Novis 2007 ini.

Ketika Fazli mendahului kedudukan keseluruhan CP130, mengekori di belakangnya ialah Abdul Muhaimin Roslan (Yamaha Maju Motor Racing) di kedudukan kedua dengan 31 mata dan Mohd Zaqhwan Zaidi (Pachie Yuzy Honda Racing) ketiga dengan 26 mata.
