If you remembered the beautiful chill out place formerly call Sunset Bistro up at Bayu Senja, Batu Ferringhi area which was burnt down due to the so-called arson attack in late January 2011, you would surely not miss out the reincarnation of such cool bistro which now carries the name of Bora Bora By Sunset. A brainchild of Ms. Melynda Soon, the bistro was opened towards the end of May this year at a new location. It's located just a shop lot away just before the Tarbush Lebanese Restaurant, hidden right behind some night market stalls along the famous Batu Ferringhi stretch. It has a better ambiance compared to the former with more cozy and dimly lighted corners for romantic couples. The bistro covers a long stretch of cemented pathways up to the edge of the beach, with an ejected wooden platform in between, to watch the beautiful sunset over the horizon of the Andaman Sea. Comfortable and uncomplicated, this snazzy bistro is actually a reminiscent of those smaller water holes by the beaches of some South East Asian countries. Needless to say, this was the only other place which Jezebelle was looking forward to besides the swimming pool. It wasn't hard to coax her out of the swimming pool area to this place, but it wasn't easy at all to persuade her to leave Lil' Rock Kids Club!

Body Rock Gym is a well-equipped gym with state-of-the-art equipment and stunning poolside view. It would be awesome to do workout in the gym. However, our intention in Hard Rock Hotel Penang was just to relax, therefore, we didn't allocate any time at all for the gym.

Rock Spa is the place to be for services such as massages, body scrubs, body wraps, facials, manicure & pedicure and even hair removal.

Enjoy the sea view while getting pampered in the spa bungalow or in the beautifully decorated outdoor cabanas facing the sea.

Rock Spa was the only other place besides the Teens Club which we didn't have the opportunity to have a go at because we were busy looking after our toddler, who seemed to fully enjoy herself more than we did.

It is a sad day when a child has to suffer, especially when she is supposed to be enjoying herself on one of Malaysia's most popular beaches. But that is exactly what happened to Arina Kirana Azrin, 5, when she was knocked down by a horse ridden by a man on the beach. It is very fortunate that she suffered a dislocated left shoulder and not lost her life.

Unregulated beach activities at Batu Ferringhi have led to several nasty accidents recently

The man who rode the horse? He did not bother to stop and just tried to get away from enforcement officers who were at the beach at that time. No word in news reports whether the man was apprehended but the incident highlights a very, very, very old issue about Batu Ferringhi. Water sports and beach activities have been a bone of contention between operators and authorities, with no resolution in sight. Consequently, there is still no real enforcement, even though there is supposed to be a ban on some activities, especially after a horrific accident involving a Chinese tourist in February earlier this year.

It really does seem that those involved in the tourism sector in Penang have not learnt from the past. It makes us wonder how many more innocent people have to suffer, and what exactly will it take to actually see this situation finally resolved.

Gerakan has urged the DAP-led Penang government to enforce laws on sporting activities at the popular beach of Batu Ferringhi.

Local government bureau chairman Teh Leong Meng said serious attention must be given to public safety along the beach as it could affect the tourism industry.

"We have laws but they will not work if there is no strict enforcement and proper control," he said in a statement to Bernama here Wednesday.

On Wednesday, Arina Kirana Azrin, 5, dislocated her left shoulder after she was knocked down by a horse ridden by a man on the beach.

Teh said horse-riding and watersports were banned in Feb after Chinese tourist Zhu Li, 47, suffered broken legs after being hit by a flying jetski.

Penang Municipal Council had since issued guidelines to watersports operators including asking them to undergo first aid training and provide general insurance worth RM50,000.

Apa kejadahnya semua ini ? Hang pa ini SRS nak ronda sukarela ka nak jadi Gangster untuk pukul orang . Tanpa bertanya dulu dari budak ini terus ja belasah macam binatang .

Memang cukup kurang ajar tahap bangsat dah puak-puak ini . Perbuatan hang pa ni sudah lari dari matlamat asal penubuhan SRS . KLIK DI SINI

Sepatutnya SRS ini memberi perlindungan kepada nyawa & harta benda , tetapi sekarang sudah terbalik anggap mereka sendiri sebagai undang2 .

GPB desak pihak POLIS siasat segera 15 ekor gengster SRS Batu Feringgi ini kerana membabitkan nyawa 2 orang remaja dan keselamatan masyarakat lain . Kita tidak mahu nanti ada yang mati pulak dibelasah oleh samseng2 SRS ini kemudian hari .

GEORGETOWN: "Kami dipukul, dipijak dan ditendang seperti haiwan di depan orang ramai, sedangkan kami tidak melakukan apa-apa kesalahan," dakwa dua sahabat apabila dipukul sekumpulan 15 anggota skim rondaan sukarela (SRS) di Batu Ferringhi, di sini, malam Khamis lalu.

Muhammad Farzuan Romzi, 20, dan Fendi Abdul Latif, 21, masing-masing dari Teluk Bahang berkata, kejadian berlaku jam 11.30 malam ketika mereka mengunjungi rumah seorang rakan di Mutiara Apartment, Batu Ferringhi.

Bagaimanapun, Muhammad Farzuan berkata, rakannya yang menetap di tingkat empat tiada di rumah dan mereka menunggu di tepi tangga sebelum didatangi sekumpulan lelaki yang mendakwa mereka anggota SRS sebelum memukul mereka menggunakan kayu, besi dan topi keledar.

Katanya, dia dan rakannya hampir pengsan selepas dibelasah tanpa belas kasihan dan mengalami lebam di seluruh anggota badan dan muka sebelum dibawa ke Hospital Pulau Pinang (HPP) untuk rawatan lanjut.

"Saya terkejut dengan kejadian itu dan lebih menyedihkan apabila dituduh cuba melakukan jenayah pecah rumah dan menghidu gam selain dibelasah dan diseret dari tingkat tiga hingga tingkat bawah tanpa belas kasihan serta diperlakukan seperti binatang," katanya.

Fendi berkata, dia kesal kerana kumpulan lelaki itu mengambil tindakan tanpa usul periksa, selain trauma dengan kejadian terbabit.

Berikutan itu, satu laporan polis dibuat di Balai Polis Batu Ferringghi, jam 11 pagi semalam bagi meminta polis melakukan siasatan.

Tajaan Utusan Malaysia untuk 22 sekolah rendah di Tasek Gelugor

TASEK GELUGOR 23 April - Keberkesanan sisipan Akhbar Dalam Pembelajaran (ADaP) Utusan Malaysia membantu meningkatkan proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran murid mendorong Ahli Parlimen Tasek Gelugor, Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcob menaja akhbar ini untuk diedarkan kepada murid di 22 sekolah rendah di Tasek Gelugor mulai bulan ini.

Katanya, melalui sumbangan bernilai RM27,720 itu, murid yang bakal menduduki Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) berpeluang memanfaatkan sisipan ADaP dalam pembelajaran mereka.

Jelas beliau, setiap sekolah akan mendapat 30 naskhah akhbar Utusan Malaysia setiap hari Rabu.

Ia melibatkan Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Permatang Buluh, SK Permatang Tok Jaya, SK Sungai Dua, SK Lahar Yooi, SK Bagan Ajam, SK Permatang Binjai, SK Teluk Air Tawar, SK Taman Senangan, SK Pengkalan Jaya, SK Kampung Selamat, SK Tasek Gelugor, SK Ara Rendang, SK Pokok Sena, SK Sungai Puyu dan SK Padang Menora.

Sekolah lain yang mendapat tajaan itu adalah Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) Kai Chee, SJKC Aik Keow, SJKC Li Hwa, SJKC Lee Chee dan Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil (SJKT) Ladang Mayfield dan SJKT Ladang Malakoff.

"Murid boleh mendapat pelbagai kaedah serta panduan jawapan untuk berjaya dalam UPSR selepas ini.

"Ini secara tidak langsung mampu membantu mereka untuk maju dan berjaya dalam pelajaran," katanya selepas menyerahkan replika cek tajaan kepada Pengurus Kanan Pemasaran dan Pengedaran Utusan Melayu (M) Berhad, Mohd. Basir Abdul Rahim di Dewan Besar Sungai Dua, Tasek Gelugor, di sini hari ini.

Majlis penyerahan itu diadakan sempena Hari Kerjaya dan Keusahawanan Tasek Gelugor 2011 selama dua hari anjuran UMNO Bahagian Tasek Gelugor dengan kerjasama Pihak Berkuasa Pelaksanaan Koridor Utara.

Hadir sama Ketua Eksekutif NCIA, Datuk Redza Rafiq dan Penolong Pengurus Pemasaran Utusan Melayu (M) Berhad Wilayah Utara, Azman Mohd. Mansor.

KUBANG PASU 11 Julai – Dua sahabat dari Tasek Gelugor, Pulau Pinang tidak menyangka kunjungan mereka ke Tasik Darul Aman, Jitra di sini untuk menyertai pertandingan Kaki Pancing Siri 3/2011 membuahkan hasil apabila muncul johan dan naib johan pertandingan itu.

Norsham Ismail, 40, selaku johan membawa pulang wang tunai RM25,000 beserta sijil setelah berjaya menaikkan ikan tongsan seberat 7.52 kilogram pada pertandingan anjuran Toman Merah Event dengan kerjasama Darulaman Golf & Country Club itu.

Rakannya, Zaini Ilyas, 41, pula yang muncul naib johan menerima RM10,000 setelah menjinakkan ikan tongsan seberat 7.27 kilogram.

Tempat ketiga pula dimenangi oleh Mohd. Safri Meor, 30, yang menerima RM4,000 setelah berjaya menaikkan ikan patin seberat 4.56 kilogram.

Norsham berkata, dia tidak menyangka ikan tongsan yang berjaya dijinakkan pukul 11.46 pagi itu menjadikannya sebagai johan pertandingan tersebut.

"Saya dan rakan-rakan yang lain dari Tasek Gelugor memang selalu menyertai pertandingan memancing, tetapi ini kali pertama saya menang dalam pertandingan ini.

"Hadiah RM25,000 akan saya simpan dan saya akan belanja rakan-rakan yang turut datang mencuba nasib pada pertandingan ini," katanya selepas pertandingan itu di sini, kelmarin.

Zaini pula berkata, dia datang bersama Norsham serta rakan-rakan lain untuk memeriahkan lagi pertandingan Kaki Pancing Siri 3/2011 itu.

"Saya memang tidak pernah melepaskan peluang menyertai pertandingan kerana saya minat memancing.

"Saya anggap hadiah ini adalah rezeki anak-anak dan keluarga yang tidak pernah jemu menyokong minat saya ini," jelasnya.

Mohd. Safri berkata, dia bersyukur setelah penyertaannya membuahkan hasil kerana pertandingan itu disertai lebih 400 kaki pancing dari kawasan utara.

"Saya tinggal di Bota, Perak, dan setiap kali memasuki pertandingan ini saya akan mendapat hadiah dan penat lelah saya ke sini sangat berbaloi," katanya.

Yong dapat tawaran melanjutkan pengajian peringkat matrikulasi UKM dalam bidang Sains.
Seronok ya amat yaww!!
Mana taknya, result SPM makan tak cukup, tapi dapat pulak sambung belajar.
Rezeki tu..

Yong mendapat tempat pengajian di Kompleks Tabung Haji Bayan Lepas, Pulau Pinang.
Yong happy sebab Yong dibesarkan di Penang 12 tahun.
Kembali semula ke pulau ni, memang sangat dinanti.
Mak pun happy sebab anak dara sorang dia ni dekat dengan rumah dia. Di Sungai Petani.
Kalau belajar kat Penang, senang nak balik rumah mak bila cuti hari minggu.

Kompleks Tabung Haji ni baru je siap pembinaannya masa Yong mula2 masuk.
Katil baru, cat baru, peralatan baru, kawan baru, semangat baru.
Yang pasti, waktu tu tahu seronok je. Rasa macam dapat kebebasan.

Sepanjang belajar di sini, tak ada gangguan pelik2, maklumlah,
orang cakap tempat baru selalu kena kacau dek penunggu.
Tapi sepanjang Yong melilau dekat koridor bangunan pukul 2-3 pagi untuk pergi buat prep,
tak ada pulak Yong nampak kelibat pelik2 ataupun bunyi-bunyi yang menyeramkan.
Mungkin Yong bukan jenis yang peka kot?

Tapi bila hampir ke penghujung semester, makin banyak cerita2 seram yang Yong dengar.
Ada kawan Yong dari bilik lain, datang singgah guna bilik air di bilik Yong.
Keluar dari bilik air pucat lesi. Katanya dia nampak sesuatu yang menakutkan.
Yong terus bangun dan masuk bilik air.
Humm...tak nampak apa2 pun?
"Sialan elo, kamar mandi ku ngak punya apa2 barang kotor. Elo bilang apa sih?
Gue nggak ngerti...."

Kemudian dengar pulak cerita isteri kepada pengarah kolej kami
pengsan sebab menegur kelibat.
Yong tak pasti cerita ni benar atau tidak. Tapi mengikut cerita,
katanya dia nampak seperti seorang pelajar
merayau2 di ground floor pada waktu yang agak lewat.
Bila ditegur, terus budak yang disangka pelajar itu bertukar rupa.
Heeee....heeeee.....heeeEEEEE...!!!!

Ada juga cerita2 dari pengawal keselamatan bangunan.
Kata mereka, ketika berkawal di kawasan tangga,
mereka terserempak dengan langsuir.
Ada juga pelajar lelaki yang mengaku mereka nampak kelibat langsuir
di antena atas bumbung bangunan. Tak pasti juga cerita ini benar.
Mungkin sekadar untuk menakutkan pelajar perempuan.

Tapi ini episod yang Yong sendiri alami semasa
minggu2 terakhir di Kompleks Tabung Haji ni.
Esoknya dijadualkan peperiksaan Kimia.
Yong nak study lagi tapi Yong tahu tak ada gunanya.
Yong dah terlampau mengantuk.
Yong tinggalkan prep group dan terus ke bilik.
Kalau tak silap, bilik Yong bernombor 510.
Bilik paling hujung, tingkat paling atas, corner lot.

Lampu Yong biarkan terang sebab,
Yong tak nak roomates Yong masuk dan bukak tutup lampu.

Nanti tidur Yong terganggu.

Yong seorang je dalam bilik.
Semua masih sibuk dalam kelas buat last prep.

Yong letak buku kimia Yong atas meja dan terus menghenyak badan ke katil.

Yong nak tidur sangat2.

Baru nak tutup mata, Yong dengar bunyi perabot dialih-alih tempat.

Yong abaikan je.
Mungkin budak bilik sebelah mengalihkan almari atau meja.

Yong cuba tutup mata.

Tiba2 dengar bunyi helaian buku diselak2.

Yong bukak mata yang memang sedia berat sebab mengantuk.

Yong tenung buku kimia yang Yong letak atas meja.

Buku tu terselak macam berirama.

Buku diselak2...mula2 perlahan...flip-....flip-.....flip-....

lepas tu,....flipflipflipflip...

lepas tu perlahan balik, flip-...flip-.....flip-....flip-....

sambung balik dengan selakan laju.....flipflipflipflip.

Macam ada orang yang mengalihkan mukasurat buku tu,
tapi tidak ada sesiapa.

Yong tenung sampai buku itu ditutup semula sepertimana yang Yong tinggalkan tadi.

Dan buku teks itu setebal 2 inci.

Yong mengantuk sangat, jadi Yong tak peduli.

Yong terus sambung niat nak tidur.

Tapi mungkin 'benda' itu tak puas hati.

Dialih2nya almari yang sebesar almari hotel tu.
Kedepan..kebelakang.

Kalau diikutkan, andainya masa tu Yong tak mengantuk,

mungkin Yong dah melompat terjun dari katil dan berlari keluar bilik sebab takut.

Tapi mengantuk Yong lebih dari segalanya.

Yong ingat lagi apa yang Yong kata dalam hati waktu tu.

"Kalau ko nak main buku aku ke, almari ke, kain baju ke...main je lah.

Aku dah ngantuk. Nak tidor.

Jangan kacau aku, jangan buat bunyi, jangan tunjuk rupa sudah.
Esok aku nak exam."

Zzzzzz.........(dah tak ingat apa dah time ni...lala-land)

Kengkawan MIT, Penang...korang2 takde own experience ke kat sini.
Seingat aku, 'benda' tu duduk atas peha Kak Sakirah
masa dia tengah duduk atas sejadah pakai telekung lagi.
Sharmila kena 'tegur' dari luar tingkap bilik dia di tingkat 5. Korang tak kena?
