With the growth of our business in Asia Pacific, a regional hub based in Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam, Selangor has been set up to manage investment within South East Asia. In view of this growth, we are looking for dynamic and experienced individuals who are willing to be part of our team.
Manager/Senior Manager (Project)
The incumbent is accountable for the management of investment, focusing on project quality, cost and schedule of the project. The Project Manager oversees the entire cycle of the investment project from basic design to start up including focus on front end loading and involvement of process technology in the design phase.
Main tasks:
- Manage the project to ensure that it is implemented within company and statutory requirements, review third party deliverables such as Project Management & Execution Plans and control of project execution at all phases from FEED to completion
- Manage the planning and development of scope encompassing procurement, contracting strategy, scheduling, expenditure and risk mitigation on all new and acquired projects through appropriate application and use of WBS as well as perform final scope verification of contracted work ensuring full conformance to vendor instructions, approved drawings & best engineering practices
- Validate the WBS at planning phase ensuring quantities & types of resources to be used to perform project activities are within budget, and review & control project schedule prepared by contractors ensuring full implementation via CPM, resource loadings, etc.
- Analyse, review and provide recommendation on Consultant's/ Engineering Partner's estimates ensuring compliance with Company and/or industry standards
- Perform QA/QC by identifying key interventions during project execution phase to assure the project satisfy the agreed quality standards
- Review and/or develop as required the Project Manpower Planning (PMP) to ensure effective deployment in terms of staffing level and competencies
- Establish regular communication with stakeholders to ensure project and milestones are implemented according to the approved Project Execution Plan (PEP)
- Implement Risk Management Planning by identifying. mitigating and recommend eliminating measures for project related works per PRM guidelines
- Review & recommend with technical & economic justification, contracting strategy and tender plan for procurement of material & services throughout project execution; conduct bid queries, evaluation, clarification meetings. select and recommend for award with endorsement by approving authorities and perform contract administration and closure
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Masters will be an added advantage
- At least 15 years of total working experience with more than 10 years in projects and more than 5 years in the chemical and petrochemical industry. Has worked in the capacity of a Project Manager on 2 or more significant projects or acted in an advisory capacity for more than 4 years
- Project management and project control skills are mandatory
- Certified Project Management Professionals (PMPs) will be an added advantage
- Good planning and scheduling, cost engineering, chemical process design/optimisation as well as chemical project engineering/plant design & engineering (mechanical, instrumentation, civil, electrical skills
- Knowledge of software/tools such as CAD. MS Project is preferred
- Good leadership skills and proficient in spoken &written English
- Willing to travel frequently on global assignments
Manager/Senior Manager (Engineering)
The incumbent will review and provide inputs in defining and developing the project scope during Pre-FEED & FEED phase, manage and implement the Conceptual design requirements per agreed codes, standards and regulations and interface to translate into project deliverables encompassing Conceptual Design Report, FEED Packages, Design Basis Memorandum and Project Specifications. During the Detail Design phase, the incumbent focuses on the engineering aspects of the facilities with regards to performance, operability, maintainability, integrity, safety and quality. The incumbent will also verify and determine effectiveness of contractor's engineering deliverables, identify issues that may affect the works, advice, manage and direct the contractor on mitigating measures impacting construction activities.
Main tasks:
- Identify and address constructability requirements into AFC drawings and specification during the detail design phase
- Ensure completeness by incorporating contingencies in MTOs
- Ensure effectiveness, compliance with project requirements by incorporating into AFC drawings and MTOs during Vendor Data Review sessions
- Ensure priorities and timely completion of detailed shop and installation drawings
- Ensure PDMS and interface clash check review session is conducted and findings incorporated in construction drawings and MTOs
- "Red-line" drawings to reflect changes made to be used/updated in the preparation of the final as-built drawings
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical. Masters will be an added advantage
- At least 12 years of total working experience
- At least 8 years of working experience in the chemical and petrochemical industry with at least 5 years of engineering management experience. Has assumed and completed work as an Engineering Manager on 2 or more significant projects or in an advisory capacity for more than 4 years
- Familiarise with international/local code & standards
- Work experience in chemical production process support will be an advantage
- Knowledge of software/tools such as CAD, MS Project is preferred
- International working experience is highly preferable
- Willing to travel frequently on global assignments
Manager/Senior Manager (Project Control)
The incumbent is responsible for planning, cost and risks for projects with a focus on support of the Project Manager. He/She is accountable for investment project cost and schedule and reports to the Project Manager during the planning an execution phase.
Main tasks:
- Define Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) & Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) for the project
- Preliminary Execution Planning, key milestone schedule plus manpower estimating & planning
- Conduct detailed planning of engineering activities, including manpower loading & resource levelling
- Define cost control breakdown and system for cost reporting & analysis
- Monitor planning and cost development of engineering/ vendor/ contractors and develop the cost and schedule (trend) report
- Perform the risk management as support to the project manager
- Review project change orders or variations from project team or contractors
- Analyse the project developments (including technical) and translate these into cost and schedule consequences and seek opportunities to improve these objectives
- Facilitate communications between and among Project team, Finance and Corporate Management as well as external parties
- Ensure planning/scheduling & cost control are performed in accordance to BASF Corporate Guidelines & standards
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Masters will be an added advantage
- At least 12 years of total working experience
- At least 8 years of working experience in project control and scheduling. Has completed assignments on 2 or more significant projects in a multi-disciplinary environment or in an advisory capacity for more than 4 years
- Knowledge of SAP
- International working experience is highly preferable
- Willing to travel frequently on global assignments
